Career & Experience

Dr. Niema Abdelmagid is a multidisciplinary healthcare professional whose career sits at the intersection of clinical pharmacy, health systems management, and digital health innovation. With over a decade of experience spanning public health institutions in Sudan, international medical device operations across the Middle East and North Africa, and ongoing doctoral research in Romania, Niema brings a uniquely integrated perspective to pharmaceutical industry projects, health management programs, and healthcare digitization initiatives. She brings a proven track record of cross-cultural communication, stakeholder coordination, and performance in both resource-constrained and highly regulated environments.

As a licensed pharmacist in both Sudan (Sudan Medical Council) and the UAE (Dubai Health Authority), Niema began her career in high-pressure hospital settings — including emergency, obstetrics and gynecology, and public-sector pharmacy roles within the Sudanese Ministry of Health — where she developed a deep foundation in patient-centered care, clinical protocol compliance, inventory management, and multidisciplinary team collaboration.

She subsequently transitioned into the global medical technology sector at Medtronic Diabetes, where she served as Product & Customer Support Specialist and Team Lead for the MENA region. In this capacity, she provided advanced technical support for insulin pump, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), and digital disease-management solutions to patients, distributors, clinical specialists, and hospital partners across multiple countries. Her contributions extended beyond support delivery to include CRM system customization, capacity building of new team members, and the authoring of monthly and quarterly analytics reports that informed regional sales strategy and market segmentation — reflecting her strong command of data-driven operations within a regulated healthcare environment.

Niema holds an MBA in Healthcare Management from Geneva Business School and is currently pursuing a PhD in Digital Health Economy & Management at the Academia de Studii Economice (ASE) in Bucharest, Romania. Her academic trajectory reflects a sustained commitment to bridging clinical expertise and healthcare systems thinking with the economics and governance of digital transformation. In March 2025, she presented a peer-reviewed paper — “The Economic Ripple Effect of Digital Health: Opportunities and Challenges for Business Excellence in the Healthcare Sector” — at the 19th International Conference on Business Excellence, underscoring her capacity to contribute to evidence-based discourse in healthcare innovation.
